Professor Jonathan Dekel-Chen is Rabbi Edward Sandrow Chair in Soviet & East European Jewry at Hebrew University, where he holds a dual appointment in the Department of Jewish History & Contemporary Jewry and in the Department of General History. He has been published by prestigious academic publishers including Yale University Press, Indiana University Press and Magnes. His current research and publications deal with transnational philanthropy and advocacy, non-state diplomacy, agrarian history and migration. In 2014, he and his sons founded Bikurim Youth Village for the Performing Arts, a residential school with world-class professional artistic training for under-served high school students.
