Efrat Yerday is Chairwoman of the Association of Ethiopian Jews (AEJ) since 2019 having been connected to the AEJ for many years. A writer, scholar, and activist, she was awarded NIF’s 2020 Gallanter Prize “based on the universal principles of freedom, dignity and human rights for all,” and named one of Israel’s “Most Promising People” by Israel’s popular newspaper, Yediot Achronot. She has a MA degree in political science and government from Ben-Gurion University and is a PhD candidate in Tel Aviv University’s Sociology department while lecturing at Ruppin College
