A few years back the AEJ advocated that Israeli officers wear body cams to‏ allow full visibility and to document events live between the police and civilians.
After a one year pilot in certain cities, the use of body cams is now expanding and this January 8,000 new body cams will gradually be used by the Israel Police countrywide.

Let’s hope the Israel Police will indeed keep the body cam records authentic in order to represent both sides objectively and reduce police brutality-such as the incident with Yosef Salamsa, may he Rest In Peace.
