A terrible tragedy took place in Bat Yam on Friday- The Israel Police shot and killed Yehuda Biadga, a 24 year old Ethiopian Israeli.
His brother-in-law who volunteers with the Israel Police had called for help after Yehuda seemed to have a mental breakdown and was acting violent.
Instead of productive police intervention and support, there was a shocking ending.
Shocking? or typical?!
How many more lives will it take before the Israel Police treats all people equally and opens fire according to regulations?
We send our deepest condolences to Yehuda’s family.
In the meantime, the AEJ will be releasing some disturbing data about increased Police brutality, and will meet with the Justice Ministry and our NGO coalition partners to demand action by our Members of Knesset –
